FROM HOUDINI to HUGO:THE ART OF BRIAN SELZNICK is an exhibition organized by the National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature (NCCIL) in Abilene, Texas. See it at the NCCIL, 101 Cedar Street, until February 5, 2011, when it will travel around the country to museums and libraries. The exhibition includes 103 original works by Selznick. It's always free to go to the NCCIL.For more information, check out the NCCIL's website at www.nccil.org or call 325.673.4586. This is an outstanding exhibit! See the actual dollhouse made by Brian and one of the dolls that the artist sculpted in preparation for his illustrations for the popular series of books by Ann M. Martin and Laura Godwin. Also included in the exhibition are originals from THE DINOSAURS OF WATERHOUSE HAWKINS, THE HOUDINI BOX, WALT WHITMAN: WORDS FOR AMERICA, THE BOY OF A THOUSAND FACES, FRINDLE, WING WALKER, THE DULCIMAR BOY, AMELIA AND ELEANOR GO FOR A RIDE, and, of course, THE INVENTION OF HUGO CABRET. I've left out many of my favorites. It's s pectacular!

I'll be happy to try to answer questions about the exhibit or the NCCIL.
