Two events at Brooklyn Public Library:

I am delighted that Seta Toroyan will be giving a talk titled "The Page Turn in the Picture Book: What it Does and How Children's Writers and Illustrators Make Use of It" on Tuesday, November 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Library (10 Grand Army Plaza) of Brooklyn Public Library in the Trustees Room. She will present on how turning the page in a book is a unique experience for a child and how artists and writers use it to create drama in their stories. Seta recently completed an MFA in Writing for Children at Vermont College of Fine Arts where this research was part of her thesis. She writes and illustrates children's books, and is the Regional Advisor for the Metro-NY Chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators.

From 6:00-6:30 we will be having a pizza supper. If you would like to chip in and share in the pizza, please RSVP to me for details.

And if you want to make it a picture book night, come see the "Drawn in Brooklyn" exhibit at Brooklyn Public Library of original picture book art by Brooklyn illustrators: http://www.brooklynpubliclibrary.org/events/drawn/ It is a stellar show!
