Thanks to all of you who participated in our most recent discussion of nonfiction for children and teens. It was great to heard from so many people who write nonfiction, as well as from those of us who love to read it ourselves and/or share it with enthusiastic young readers. It is obviously a topic that many people feel passionate about, and we have been reminded during these past two weeks that an open civil discourse is not only still possible but immensely pleasurable as well.

Before we turn to the next topic, The Paucity of Picture Books, we invite you to tell us about upcoming events in the world of children's and young adult literature during the open announcement period we have at the beginning of every month. We'll officially begin our first November discussion on Wednesday Nov 3.
