In general, I think it's interesting to note the artistic influence graphic novels have had on novels and picture books. One example of this is from Joseph Bruchac's new book "My Father Is Taller Than a Tree" where paneling is used to accompany the traditional illustrations. As a graphic novel fan, I appreciate how their popularity seems to have opened up some doors for creativity in traditional book formats.
