The Carol D. Reiser Children's Book Award is given annually to the children's book published the preceding year that most effectively inspires community service and volunteerism in children. This national award, now in its eighth year, was established by the Metro Atlanta Corporate Volunteer Council where Carol was co-founder and past president, and is a living tribute to Carol Reiser's lifelong commitment to community service. The award will be presented on September 23^rd of 2010 at our annual IMPACT Awards event in Atlanta. The author will be flown in as our guest to accept this award which carries a $1000 honorarium for the author's charity of choice. The book will also be featured in a variety of promotions, press releases and printed materials associated with the event. It is our hope also that the author would consider a book signing before or after the awards event as well.
We invite you to submit nominations and welcome your assistance in publicizing this award through your network of publishers and authors. Complete details are available through our website www.cvcofatlanta.org under the awards navigation. The past winners can be found in the same area. Nominations will be accepted until June 11, 2010.
