A quick off-topic but, I hope, ever-interesting note: Several people wrote me about the letter published in my home town newspaper by a little girl in praise of her school librarian, and even wanted to share it on Facebook or the like. I've been in touch with the librarian and the child's mother, both of whom happily give permission for the letter to be shared. It was published in the April 6, 2010 edition of the Herald-Times, Bloomington, Indiana. I don't know whether you can access it electronically (maybe opinion or letters page), but if anyone wants further information, let me know and I'll help, if possible!
I'm enjoying the discussion on boys and books, especially the comments on making historical fiction interesting.
