I have two questions about the Caldecott medal to which I cannot seem to find answers:
1.) Does the winner receive a cash award? If so, how much?
2.) The rules specify that the award must go to a book "in English," yet they do not "limit the use of words or phrases in another language where appropriate in context." If a text is truly bilingual (such as the books by Francisco Alarcon), however, is the book eligible?
If anyone has a definitive answer for either, I would very much appreciate it!
Many thanks, Elaine Dimopoulos
