Ann Bausum to speak in Janesville

Please forgive any duplication. I think I may have used an old email addres s previously and just want to be sure that everyone knows about this wonder ful opportunity to hear Ann Bausum.

Voting Rights, Voting Fights: Securing the Vote During American History Tuesday, March 16, 7 p.m. Hedberg Public Library, 316 S. Main Street, Janesville, WI 608-758-6585

Wisconsin author Ann Bausum will present an illustrated talk about key mile stones in the long path to more equitable voting rights in America. Bausum is the author of numerous books about U.S. history for readers age 10 and u p; among them are Denied, Detained, Deported about American immigration (20 09), Muckrakers about investigative journalism (2007), Freedom Riders about the civil rights movement (2006), and With Courage and Cloth about the wom en's suffrage movement (2004).

Bausum's books have received the Golden Kite Award from the Society of Chil dren's Book Writers and Illustrators, 2008 Orbis Pictus Award Honor Book fr om the National Council of Teachers of English, 2008 Notable Children's Boo k from the American Library Association, and Choices 2008 from the Cooperat ive Children's Book Center, UW-Madison.

Copies of Bausum's books will be available for sale and signing after the p rogram.
