Some time has passed since I've listened to "Peace, Locomotion," but I remember thinking Dion Graham captured the voice of Lonnie perfectly. His NY accent was spot on, and his voice expressed the young poet's breadth of emotion, which ranges from tenderness for his sister to fear/love for the half brother he hardly knows who returns from the war with a life-altering injury. Although I had read the book twice already, it was an "I don't want to get out of my car" listening experience. I was thrilled to see it honored by the Odyssey Award Committee.
