It seems like the discussion of the Printz Award winner is just heating up a bit, so please continue to discuss "Going Bovine," if you feel so inclined.

In the meantime, I also invite you to discuss the winners of the 2010 Odyssey Award. The Odyssey is a relatively new ALA award, and it is selected by a joint committee of the Association for Library Service to Children and the Young Adult Library Services Association; as such, the age range for the audio books under consideration goes from birth-age 18. The books honored by this year's committee provide a good demonstration of that range.

This year, the award went to Live Oak Media for their production of the picture book, "Louise, The Adventures of a Chicken," by Kate DiCamillo, narrated by Barbara Rosenblatt. The Honor Books. The Honor Recordings were for "In the Belly of the Bloodhound" by L. A. Meyer, narrated by Katherine Kellgren (Listen & Live Audio); "Peace, Locomotion," by Jacqueline Woodson, narrated by Dion Graham (Brilliance Audio); and "We Are the Ship," by Kadir Nelson, narrated by Dion Graham (Brilliance Audio).

If you have had a chance to listen to any of these recordings, please share your thoughts about them. We also invite you to discuss audio books for children and teens in general. Are they popular in your school or library?
