The Printz winner surprised me with joy! I had received Going Bovine at ALA in ARC form and carried it home, to be h onest, mostly because of cows! Of course I was familiar with Libby Bray and so I thought it would be a "gi rl" kind of book. In truth, I was thinking something along the line of Dai ry Queen. Were my eyes opened!! I found it quirky and intriquing from be ginning to end. I was continually asking myself "What is really happening? Can this be that dark?" The writing was so vivid I could visualize the F lorida escapades and take delight in his escape. I'm sure most readers wou ld share my sadness when reality returned! As a daily librarian with the elementary school set, this was a terrific ve nture into the YA lit world!
