Nancy, thanks for alerting us to your interview with Annika Thor, the author of "A Faraway Island." Your excellent interview cites the 2010 Sydney Taylor Honor Book citation also awarded to this novel.

When I saw the on-line photo of Annika Thor in Nancy's interview, I began doubting my memory of her being the speaker I heard during the 2008 IBBY Congress in Copenhagen. My IBBY files are packed away right now, so I can't check. Perhaps someone else who was there will write to me off-list to tell me who we heard speak about a quartet of novels seeming similar (in my memory) if not the same as the characters in "A Faraway Island."
