RE: Mock Science Books and Films (SB&F) election results

Each year since 2006, SB&F has selected finalist books for their AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prize for Excellence in Science Books http://www.sbfonline.com/Subaru/Pages/PrizesHome.aspx award (2010 finalist & winning books at the different grade levels are listed at this website). The Mock SB&F election was started to give students a chance to evaluate the SB&F finalist science books too (see Mock SB&F homepage for more information html ).

Four groups of students participated in this years' Mock Science Books and Films (SB&F) election. This years' election results were:

(1) Students from Sidwell Friends Middle School in Washington D.C. chose (in order): Bodies from the Ice, Mission Control, The Frog Scientist, and a Tie between- Lucy Long Ago and Cars on Mars.

(2) Students from Logan Middle in La Crosse, WI chose (in order): Bodies from the Ice and Frog Scientist.

(3) Students from Irving Pertzsch Elementary in Onalaska, WI chose (in order): What Bluebirds Do and a tie between Redwoods and Moonshot.

(4) Students from a fourth group will post their Mock SB&F results to the CCBC listserve.
