Thank you to those of you who have been posting the results of your mock American Library Association (ALA) award discussions!
The actual 2010 ALA youth media awards will be announced Monday morning, January 18, at a press conference to be held at the ALA Midwinter Meeting in Boston. The awards announced will include the Newbery, Caldecott, Batchelder, Geisel, Sibert, Pura Belpre, Coretta Scott King, Printz, and others.
The press conference starts at 7:45 EST in the Grand Ballroom of the Boston Convention Center. But you don't have to be in Boston to see the press conference live--ALA will again offer live webstreaming of the event. To find out how you can attend virtually, and to learn more about the various awards, go to:
If you just want to know who won after the fact, check the main page of the ALA web site (www.ala.org) around 9 a.m. EST for the press release.
