San Francisco Public Library Mock Caldecott results

San Francisco Public Library had two groups (comprised of public and school librarians), with 15 people in each, discussing the following list of 10 t itles:

Illus. by Tom Lichtenheld. (Chr onicle) 4. THE LION AND THE MOUSE. Jerry Pinkney. (Little, Brown) 5. MOONSHOT. Brian Floca. (Atheneum) 6. MY PEOPLE. Langston Hughes. Photographs by Charles R. Smith, Jr. (At heneum) 7. OTIS. Loren Long. (Philomel) 8. A PENGUIN STORY. Antoinette Portis. (Harper Collins) 9. REDWOODS. Jason Chin (Roaring Brook). 10. TSUNAMI. Kimiko Kajikawa. Illus. by Ed Young. (Philomel)

Both groups chose the same winner, with almost the same number of votes! T he winning title is:

Jerry Pinkney’s The Lion and the Mouse.

Group One had two Honor books, All the World and Redwoods.

Group Two had two Honor books, All the World and Otis.
