My students that are enjoying the 39 Clues the most are 3-5th graders of varying reading ability. I agree that the Internet tie-in helped the buzz but is not the reason for the popularity. The fast paced plots, and adventure/thriller genre are really the draws. I have them all together on the bottom rows of a paperback tower for ease of location (getting around the multiple author issues) and they are out all the time. Because they are short, many of my better readers like to take out several at a time.
