"I'm curious as to how successful these are. My sense is that they were expected to be all the rage, but I haven't heard much post-pub buzz about them, other than that they exist. Do they elicit enthusiasm and excitement among young readers, in the way that, say, a traditional book
like "Catching Fire," has in the past few months, or are they more of a gimmicky flash-n-the pan?"--
--I bought 10 copies (1 for each branch) of the 39 Clues book #6 and we have 62-holds.
I bought 11 copies each of two new Transformers early readers and they ALL have recent (return dates for this month) and heavy (more than 30) circs.
There are two Lego paperback series called Lego Exo Force and Bionicle Legends. I buy multiple copies of both and I just checked the circ status...most are not on the shelf and have equally heavy circs. Staff routinely tells me to buy more.
