From my position, I use the following sources: PW to hear about popular au thors and newest releases, SLJ for curriculum related materials and specifi c topics of interest, the Horn Book for the literary experience, Kirkus for the more unusual, and Booklist for their outstanding lists of recommended titles.

I review for SLJ and seem to be their math and biography person for element ary related titles. I seldom get picture books and never fiction novels to read! So sad -- I wish I could have more of those to do!!

Up for discussion in November: Revie wers Choice? Reading (and Writing) Professional Reviews

Charles Gigna asks: I am curious to know into which publications do they put the most stock when deciding on new books to order. I'll turn it over to those of you who are ordering based on professional reviews. Which ones do you use? Is there one you put more stock in?
