The University of San Francisco is proud to announce:

READING THE WORLD XII, March 6,7, 2010. SF Presentation Theater, School of Education Building, 2350 Turk Street, San Francisco, California.

This celebration of multicultural literature for children and young adults will feature, іThree Legends, Three Friends,І Ashley Bryan, Jan Spivey Gilchrist, and Eloise Greenfield. Other featured speakers are Francisco Jimйnez, Firoozeh Dumas, Robin Smith and Deborah Taylor.

There will be a variety of breakout sessions with authors, illustrators, publishers, editors, teachers and librarians, showcasing the very best in multicultural literature, plus a Book Market and opportunities to interact with speakers and participants.

A Celebration Dinner, will be held on Saturday evening, location and speake r TBA

The Nye Memorial Children's Literature Tour for 2010 will visit Southern France, Bavaria, see the Oberammergau Passion Play and end up in Venice. The Nye Literature Tours were started by Dr. Marilyn Nye, Professor of children's literature at CalState East Bay .The summer class provides the opportunity to meet with international authors, illustrators, and publisher s visiting such countries as Australia, Austria, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Students are given the opportunity to study literature abroad, to meet with professionals in the field visit book stores and the homes of well known writers. The group, now led by De. Susan Fox of CalState East Bay and DR. Beverly Hock of the University of San Francisco, have traveled the world sine the early 1990's. The trip can be taken for fun or credit.
