Hi everyone, I used to facilitate a wonderful book club for 3rd-5th graders during lunch at my neighborhood elementary school. It was run through the Parent Teacher Association, and kids had to pay a small fee to be in it. I chose all the books based on a theme for the 8-week unit (fantasy, historical fiction, books written as diaries or letters, books made into movies, etc.). Kids read the books over two week periods, and we discussed, played trivia games, did art projects, and played games based on the books. I loved introducing the kids to some of my favorite authors as well as discovering new talent. And the kids had a blast.
