I haven't read Stiches, but I'm surprised that more teachers haven't seen the potential of graphic novels, haven't they heard about Maus and Hugo Cabret?

I picked up an ARC of Stitches at ALA this summer and brought it home for myself. I read it in one hour -- straight through and I was mesmorized! The great thing I have been able to do with it this fall is hand it to teachers and other adult friends who have been looking down on graphic novels. I insist they read it and they come back just amazed. What wonderful testimony to the impact of a graphic novel!!
