NBA Finalists and Crossover Books

Talk about crossover books! David Small's extraordinary graphic novel memoir, STITCHES, published as an adult title, has been shortlisted for the National Book Award in the Young People's Literature category. And then there is Deborah Helligman's engrossing CHARLES AND EMMA, published as a YA title, but of definite appeal to adults as well. In fact, while it is definitely for kids, I think adults may find Philip Hoose's wonderful biography, CLAUDETTE COLVIN, of tremendous interest too. I haven't read the other two finalists (Lani Taylor's LIPS TOUCH and Rita Williams-Garcia's JUMPED), but from what I've read about them they seem to have possible crossover appeal as well --- do any of you who have read them think so? If

so, I find it interesting that all the finalists in this category are potential crossovers.
