The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time works well for teens and adults. Also, I just finished The History of Love by Nicole Krauss, which has 2 main narrators: a 14-year-old girl and an old man. I think this would work for teen girls as well as adults.
I'll second The Book Thief. What an amazing read (and listen)!
