John Coy's Crackback had broad appeal to an intergenerational crowd at a middle school book club event I attended. So many men played football that they really connected with the theme and characters. It resulted in a very interesting group discussion when the bus drivers, professional career parents, and a number of moms who had known nothing about football politics all got into the debate with their 7th and 8th graders over the book.
