I read Elizabeth's PW column with great interest as well!
        The first six books of my 16-book series about Katie Woo, a Chinese- American first-grader, has just been published by Picture Window/Stone Arch Books. These 24-page, beginning-readers deal with universal childhood situations in humorous and playful ways. Katie's best friends are JoJo, an African-American girl, and Pedro, a Latino boy. The first six titles are TOO MUCH RAIN, BOSS OF THE WORLD, THE BIG LIE, A HAPPY DAY, NO MORE TEASING, and BYE-BYE, GOLDIE. One blogger compared Katie to Junie B. Jones, (I should be so lucky!)
