The Children's Book Guild of Washington, D.C., has selected Sy Montgomery to receive its 2010 Nonfiction Award. The award honors an author or author-illustrator whose body of work has contributed significantly to the quality of nonfiction for children. Author of Saving the Ghost of the Mountain: An Expedition Among Snow Leopards in Mongolia and the forthcoming Kakapo Rescue: Saving the World's Strangest Parrot, Sy Montgomery will receive her award during a celebration at National Geographic in Washington on April 17.
