I will never forget my daughter's dismay as we sat in the theater watching the film version of Ella Enchanted, which had been her favorite book for several years at that point. Shocked at first and growing increasingly disappointed, she kept whispering, "This isn't what happened in the book." She felt betrayed by the movie and never wanted to watch it again.
