I recall the day vividly, March 1, 1972, the afternoon I met Pam Travers in her East side NY apartment. Of the many things she said she remarked regarding the film version of ...POPPINS:
 
"The film is good entertainment, glamorous and colorful but it has very little relation to the books. All the inwardness and the truth have been removed; only the skin remains."
  She discussed the film further with me. Enough said!
