Are you associated with a school who would love to have a children's book author come and speak to the students but can't afford the honorariums and expenses it would cost? If so, an online author chat might be the answer. Balkin Buddies is now setting up author chats via Skype or iChat for about 35 authors and artists and we expect to add more over time. Honorariums are considerably lower because the author doesn't have to spend two days traveling to get to the school and then get home again. And the school pays no expenses since there is no travel involved.
