I recently enjoyed "The Plot Chickens" by Mary Jane Auch and Herb Auch. In this picture book, a chicken writes a children's book and then goes through the process of getting it published, complete with rejection letters and a getting a negative review in the "The Corn Book."

Hello,I'm looking for any ideas for teaching the publishing process to K-3rd grade students in my library. I want them to learn the step-by-step process that results in the picture books that they check out from the library... to educate our aspiring authors and illustrators! Any books, websites, materials, contacts, lesson ideas, or suggestions are welcome!Sarah SvardaLibrarianDiscovery School at Reeves-RogersMurfreesboro, TN
