The autobiographical profiles in the Junior Book of Authors and Illustrators series, published by H. W. Wilson, are a wonderful source of anecdotal information about the publishing process - not necessarily the technical process, but the connection between author, illustrator, and editor that leads to a finished book.? Many of the authors and artists talk about childhood influences, inspirational teachers, and memorable events in their lives that led to their careers.? It's those personal stories that may be most meaningful for the youngest budding writers and illustrators.? The series is available in both book and database format with over 2,100 profiles: http://www.hwwilson.com/Databases/jrauthors.htm
