Dear Friends,

As many may already know, there?s an early-in-the-day petit dejeun?r at the PlanetEsme Bookroom geared toward librarians and other ardent booklovers in honor of the American Library Association conference. If you?re in the neighborhood, please grab a buddy and join the fun! Details below!

All best, Esme Esme Raji Codell http://www.planetesme.blogspot.com

The PlanetEsme Bookroom Meets Buzzeo Brunch

Starring world famous librarian and author, Toni Buzzeo! Hosted by Esme Raji Codell, PlanetEsme.com At the PlanetEsme Bookroom, 2446 West Estes Avenue Friday, July 10th, 10:30 a.m. To 1:00 p.m.

Yes, what better way to celebrate the American Library Association?s convention in Chi-town than by getting the shmoozapalooza started early in Chicago?s literary living room, the unique children?s literary salon in the highly un-convention-al Rogers Park neighborhood? Please join us for bagels, blintzes and brilliance as we feature author and librarian Toni Buzzeo (http://www.tonibuzzeo.com), yes, one of the most famous and celebrated author/librarians of all time and creator of the ?Mrs. Skorupski? books, that?s right, THAT Toni Buzzeo, and mingle and munch in the company of other pedagogical and publishing legends and legends-to-be.

The PlanetEsme Bookroom is a private venue and space to this event is very limited, so please RSVP to esmeATripcoDOTcom if you are joining us. The event is for grown-ups. Admission is free, but we do ask that attendees purchase at least one title, available at the event, in support of our special guest, who will be available for signing.

Directions to the Bookroom: The address of the PlanetEsme Bookroom is 2446 West Estes, just around the corner from the intersection of Touhy and Western in Chicago?s Rogers Park neighborhood. Estes is a dead-end street on Indian Boundary Park. The courtyard building, which looks like it is made out of gingerbread, is on the park. The Bookroom is in a high third floor, not currently handicapped-accessible (sorry). There is additional parking on Fitch Street, which is one block north of Estes, or one block south of Touhy. If you do park on Fitch (start looking for a spot right after the first speed bump), you can feel free to use the marked rear entrances that lead through the passageways into the courtyard.

If you?re coming from the ALA conference, a cab ride from the downtown/convention area would probably run about $30 (tell driver to take Lake Shore Drive to Hollywood, Hollywood to Ridge, Ridge to Pratt, Pratt to Western...its just a couple of blocks south of Touhy and Western). People will probably be returning in groups, making it more economical to carpool.
Again, admission to the event is free but we do ask that attendees purchase a copy of one of Toni?s books at the event. This event is most suitable for adults. We?re going to have a lovely time! See you soon, and happy reading!
