I heartily second that recommendation for Blood and Chocolate.
Another favorite of mine is Owl in Love, by Patrice Kindl. It is a a teenage romance with bit of a switch--a bird of a different feather--in that the protagonist is a wereowl. There's a misguided crush at the outset, but things get smoothed out in the end.
One of the things I like about both of these books is the way in which the authors incorporate the nature of the wolf/owl into that of the human.
