And the Good News for Kids is...: Preliminary Report on the NLG Research Study
This IMLS-NLG funded research study based at Dominican University is investigating how public summer reading programs impact student achievement. It focuses on students who were in 3rd grade at the end of the 2007/08 school year. Project principals will report on the methodology, the partnerships between the public libraries and school systems involved, and the preliminary results from this multi-year project. Q & A will follow.
Speakers: Susan Roman, PhD, Dean, SLIS, Dominican University; Carole D. Fiore, Project Director, NLG Research Study; and Deborah Carran, PhD, Johns Hopkins College of Education, Center for Summer Learning.
