I love the whole Casson family in Hillary McKay's five books Saffy's Angel, Indigo's Star, Permanent Rose, Caddy Ever After, and Forever Rose. The children seem especially well drawn in Saffy's Angel and the portraits of the breathy artist mom and fatuous father are stellar.
