What a tremendous experience this has been to have Kerry generously share these details from her research with us! I am greatly appreciative of Kerry's inclusion of the various links to other sites, blogs, and posts related to her Harper Lee journey. Between To Kill a Mockingbird the book and movie, Kerry's Up Close: Harper Lee biography, and the additional photos and texts, this has been an incredible multidimensional and multimedia experience. Kerry, thank you for your invaluable time recreating these vivid scenes and stories for the CCBC-Net community.
I for one have particularly enjoyed hearing about the people who knew Nelle (I call her "Nail" in my head, just as Kerry explained) in the early days. It's clear that Kerry has been able to create a rich portrait of Nelle Harper Lee from talking to the people who knew her, and still know her, best. Even with all of the insights and anecdotes, I'm wondering if Kerry still has questions she'd like to ask Nelle if she ever got the opportunity. Kerry, do you have a "dream" question list? Or would it be more about the personal experience of just being able to talk face to face with the subject of your book?
As the month of May comes to a close, I encourage listserv members to ask questions of Kerry and/or share comments with the group.
