It's such a rich topic, picture book versions of folktales. Don't forget Zelinsky, Wolkstein, San Souci, McDermott, Aardema, Bruchac and Ed Young. There are lots of other fabulous, must-have, never-fail folk tale books, some from less prolific authors, but that's probably fodder for another day.
