So many wonderful authors/illustrators and books have been listed, but missing one I love: Phyllis Root with so many books where the language and rhythms are infectious: One Duck Stuck, Big Momma Makes the World, Rattletrap Car, Ten Sleepy Sheep, Grandmother Winter, One windy Wednesday, Aunt Nancy and Old Man Trouble. Too often overlooked, Root's work is delicious.
