Many of the titles listed in the "African-American characters..." thread are some of my favorite picture books for baby or toddler storytime programs. Some are a couple of more I like are:
Jazz Baby by Lisa Wheeler, illustrated by R. Gregory Christie, Harcourt, 2007. Uh-oh! By Rachel Isadora, Harcourt, 2008 (which is my favorite of this series by Isadora)
Neither are in board book that I know of, but maybe they should be!
