If you want to add another author to the list of great narrators, listen to Neil Gaiman read this year's Newbery winner The Graveyard Book. He is amazing - on this and on all of his self-narrated books. I agree with Sylvia that very few authors make great narrators - and the same is somewhat true of "celebrity narrators."
