Dear Friends,
I know the beginning of each month is usually reserved for announcements, so I hope you'll forgive my jumping the gun a bit. I'm so excited about National Poetry month that I wanted to make sure you knew about upcoming online events before the 1st.
Several bloggers are holding special events for the month of April to honor poetry. Here is a sampling of what you will find with links to the blogs and/or project announcements.
Greg K. at GottaBook is celebrating the first annual 30 Poets/30 Days, where every day in April he'll be posting a previously unpublished poem by a different poet. http://gottabook.blogspot.com/2009/03/announcing-30-poets30-days.html
Sylvia Vardell at Poetry for Children will be reviewing a new children's poetry book every day. http://poetryforchildren.blogspot.com/
Anastasia Suen at Pencil Talk will be collecting school poems written by children throughout April and posting one each day. http://penciltalk.wordpress.com/
Finally, on my blog, The Miss Rumphius Effect, I will launch a series called Poetry Makers that will feature interviews with 36 poets during the month. http://missrumphiuseffect.blogspot.com/2009/03/national-poetry-month-super-secret.html
We hope you will join us online for the celebration of poetry.
Best, Tricia
