It's almost time for Reading the World XI, a conference celebrating multicultural literature for children and young adults sponsored by University of San Francisco's School of Education. March 28 and 29, 2009 at University of San Francisco School of Education Building at 2350 Turk Blvd. The keynote speakers are Rosemary Wells, Marilyn Nelson, Francisco Jimenez, Junko Yokota, Michael Cart, Theresa Breslin, and Sarah Ellis. Details of presenters and information about purchasing tickets for the Saturday dinner can be found online at http://www.soe.usfca.edu/institutes/reading_world/conference.html.
An exciting addition to this year?s conference is a Silent Auction of Art donated by a group of outstanding illustrators. Also represented are Elisa Kleven, Stacey Schuett, Maria Van Lieshout, and Jane Wattenberg
There will be art and limited edition books from past and present keynoters Ashley Bryan, Debra Frasier, Naomi Shihab Nye. Peter Sis, Teri Sloat, Rosemary Wells ? and, also some surprises...
This exciting event gets better every year. Come be inspired.
