I know our time for the Batchelder discussion has ended, but I just wanted to thank everyone who offered suggestions and background information on promoting the award. The discussion both on- and off-list reminded and/or informed me of the contributions of many others over the years. I don't expect in one year that the current committee is going to suddenly catapult the Batchelder to instant national recognition. I do think, with the help you've already provided, and with the feedback I expect from future such conversations on various listservs, that we will make some headway.
Long live the Batchelder and translated books!
