I loved "How I learned Geography." It was my favorite of the Caldecott list. It is true (as Wendy said) that one would need more than a map to visualize the things he did, but the map was the start of his journey. I loved the exotic places rhyme likened to a magic incantation, and then the boy flying into new settings as though on a magic carpet. In hard times (then and now) it is good to be reminded that maps and books can be the starting place for vicarious adventure. Dotz
