[CCBC-Net] Very Sad News

Friends, I am sad to report that two luminaries in the library and children's book world were killed yesterday morning in a car accident. Kate McClelland and Kathy Krasniewicz were taking a taxi from their hotel to the Denver airport on their way home from the ALA Midwinter Meeting when their taxi was hit by a drunk driver, and they were both killed.
Kate and Kathy were long-time colleagues at the Perrot Memorial Library in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, and both of them were well-known and highly regarded library leaders. For those who knew them, this news comes as a major shock and we are all grieving for their families and friends.
