My two favorite books of the year are SNOW by Cynthia Rylant, illustrated by Lauren Stringer; and THE HOUSE IN THE NIGHT by Susan Marie Swanson, illustrated by Beth Krommes. Both evoke a magical, intimate mood through a perfect marriage of text and art.
