I'm so glad Lee has issued the call for poetry! As soon as I wrapped up my semester (yesterday!), I wanted to post my poetry choices. HOWEVER, I can't just pick one or two books. Instead, I hope you'll indulge my favorite categories of poems, poetry by kids, verse novels, and nonfiction about poetry. There are still a few books I haven't gotten my hands on, but these are my choices of the best poetry (plus) for young people of 2008 with the briefest of brief annotations-- many of these I have discussed on my blog http://poetryforchildren.blogspot.com/ Sylvia
