Nobody deserves this award more than Lee. His contributions to children's poetry are enormous--both his own poems and his promotion of poets and poetry. We love ya, Lee!

I've had so much fun reading this and sharing passages aloud with anyone who was within shouting distance (following rule 9). Readers will appreciate this small volume. In case it sounds familiar, it looks like a new translation from the French of "Comme un roman" which I think was first published in English in 1994 in Canada by Coach House Press as "Better Than Life," translated by David Homel. Homel, like Adams, is an award-winning translator. I'm sure I've seen the rights of the reader as a poster, too, but it's been a while. Here are Pennac's rights of the reader on their own (translator unknown): http://www.poynton.com/notes/misc/Inalienable_rights.html Annette Annette Goldsmith Doctoral Candidate College of Information Louis Shores Building 142 Collegiate Loop Florida State University P.O.
