Yes, great book, Carole! In case it sounds familiar, it looks like a new translation from the French of "Comme un roman" which I think was first published in English in 1994 in Canada by Coach House Press as "Better Than Life," translated by David Homel. Homel, like Adams, is an award-winning translator. I'm sure I've seen the rights of the reader as a poster, too, but it's been a while. Here are Pennac's rights of the reader on their own

Hello, again, everyone ~
I don't usually post messages about a book that I have read
(there would be too many posts!) but I want everyone to know about this little charmer -- The Rights of the Reader, by Daniel Pennac, translated by Sarah Adams, with illustrations and a forward by Quentin Blake, published by Candlewick. I've had so much fun reading this and sharing passages aloud with anyone who was within shouting distance (following rule 9). Readers will appreciate this small volume. I think every reader has his/her favorite book about reading. This one is now high on my list.
