I have to agree that the Georgia Nicholson books made me guffaw to the point of giddy crying Those agonizing familiar memories! (No, I did not shave off my eyebrows.) And the Pratchett Tiffany Aching books are immensely entertaining (for me, the Tiffany books are more fun than the adult Discworld -- probably says more about me than the author or the books. . .)
-- I keep hoping there will be more Tiffany books; compared to Discworld, NATION is a book with more 'message' and much more subtle humor, IMHO. Interesting how the first funny books that come to mind are English. You've all named some other great titles by those on the other side of the Atlantic, including AN ABUNDANCE OF KATHERINES and "Part-time Indian." Has anyone read PAPER TOWNS by John Greene? Is it (as) funny as 'Katherines'?
I'm happy to have the growing list and look forward to many laughs and good reading -- thank you!
